บทคัดย่อ

ยาไฮบริด คือยาที่ไดนำเอาสวนออกฤทธิ์ทางเภสัชวิทยา 2 ชนิดมารวมไวในโมเลกุลเดียวกัน วัตถุประสงคในการพัฒนายาไฮบริดนั้น ก็เพื่อที่จะเอาชนะปญหาการดื้อยาของเชื้อ ซึ่งเปนอุปสรรค ใหญของการบำบัดรักษาโรคติดเชื้อที่รายแรงอยางมีประสิทธิภาพ ในบทความนี้จะไดกลาวรวมถึง คุณลักษณะและโครงสรางทางเคมีของโมเลกุลยาไฮบริด โดยจะเนนตัวอยางการศึกษาพัฒนาตัวยาไฮบริด ใหมีประสิทธิภาพในการยับยั้งเชื้อมาลาเรีย Plasmodium falciparum สายพันธุที่ดื้อยา ซึ่งผลจาก การศึกษาไดแสดงใหเห็นถึงความเปนไปไดในทางปฏิบัติของแนวคิดของยาไฮบริด และศักยภาพในการ พัฒนาและปรับปรุงสารตนแบบในกลุมนี้เพื่อใหเปนตัวยาสำหรับใชกับผูปวยไดในอนาคต

Hybrid drug is the drug that combines two pharmacophores in a single molecule. The purpose of developing hybrid drugs is to overcome emergence of drug resistance, which is the major obstacle to effective treatments especially for deadly infectious diseases. In this article, characteristics and chemical structures of hybrid molecules emphasizing on those with antimalarial activity against drug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum will be described. The results from various studies suggest that the hybrid drug concept is viable and prototype molecules of this kind have a potential to be developed into clinical drugs in the future.
